Knee Injury & Care

The Knee

The knee is a hinge joint where the thigh bone and shin bone meet. Persistent pain can be treated with therapy or surgery. Our goal is to get you back in action faster, while at the same time preventing re-injury.

Our fellowship trained knee surgeons treat patients requiring reconstruction of the knee due to ligament tears, meniscal tears, chrondomalacia & more.

Common Knee Injuries

Knee injuries are the most common reason for visiting an orthopaedic surgeon.

The knee is a complex joint with many components, making it vulnerable to a variety of injuries. Many knee injuries can be successfully treated without surgery, while others require surgery to correct. Here are some facts about the knee from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Seek treatment if you experience the following:

  • Hear a popping noise and feel your knee give out at the time of injury
  • Have severe pain
  • Cannot move the knee
  • Begin limping
  • Have swelling at the injury site
